I can confirm that the MSI file runs on my computer. I have 2 Lenovo laptops that I was able to log into remotely from my phone. Both have windows 10 home. I can no longer log into 1 of them. There is no Remote Desktop in Windows 10 Home. Since it was for home usage, Microsoft removed some features from Windows 10 home like group policy editor gpedit. My understanding is once the login has been established this is encrypted then any information being sent back and forth between the the client and the server is no longer encrypted. Therefore, for security purposes, one has to tunnel the VNC protocol over SSH or setup a VPN from your remote device to your home network or directly to the computer you want to access.
If security is of concern then a VNC setup is no longer simple. This also means the installation of an SSH server on the machine you want to control. VNC remote connections come in two flavours: where you have a direct connection between the remote terminal and the computer you want to control.
